For example, if I were to want to let other people know how RUDE the owner of Sharpe Reception Center in Provo, Utah is, so that she’d learn not to be bad to potential customers when they have questions, where would be a good place to go?
But it doesn’t stop there, at reception centers. We’ve all had a very negative experience from one kind of business or another, haven’t we? How about some stores? I can’t think of another specific example right now, but I bet you know the kind of feeling you get when someone–especially the business OWNER or someone else at or near the top–is rude to you. Right? You might think, "WHOW, that is NOT the way you should treat people who might be–or WORSE, already WERE and might be again–your customers! That’s not good for business! If I can spread that around, then maybe they’ll go OUT of business and learn their lesson!"
But on the other hand, maybe you’ll run into a place like the world’s first actual scrapbooking store (in Spanish Fork, Utah)–Keeping Memories Alive–and think something like, "Whow, those people are so NICE! I’d like to spread it around how nice they are! I hope they keep doing very good business!" And then you’ll want to put them on a site or other shopping comparison place for good reasons!
So where is just such a site like that? And don’t stop there, though. Where are other places that a lot of people look at–not just websites–for that kind of comparison information?
Will you come back and see my responses to your answers, please?
Thanks.
Okay, thanks, David Gardner 32, you told me about some good websites. Good, I’ll try them.
Now does anyone know about some non-web places that people like to use, or do most of us just go to websites anymore these days?
Mike
Hi, Mavis the Maven,
Yeah, those sound like some good places to check out, too.
Well, neither of ya posted any non-web places like this that people use, so I guess we just don’t use non-web places like this anymore (or maybe we never did us any?)… True, or…?
Well, anyway, thanks for those, guys. They’re both so good that I don’t know which one I want to pick as best. I think I’ll just let it go to voting by you. What do you think about that?
Mike
Oh, one more thing, Mavis:
Right now I’m looking for good places for me to write reviews of places more than because I want to read others (although those would be the same places–but I just mean that when I wrote this question, it was because I wanted to share information about my bad and good experiences with businesses because right now I had a specific complaint). Of course these will also be good for those times in the future when I may want to read complaints and compliments more than write one.
Mike
On the web:
http://www.epinions.com gives both good and bad info on products and some businesses (like hotels, restaurant chains).
http://www.ripoffreport.com/
If you’re looking for a specific business, you can search on the business name and "sucks" to see web complaints about that business (as in "Wal-mart sucks")
Don’t know how good this one is, but I noticed it on the web: http://www.businessreporter.org/
If you look up a business on Yahoo!’s Yellow Pages or Local, there’s a link where you can read reviews about the business. Problem is, almost no one ever writes them, so it’s almost useless to even check.
